"Show business is my life. When I was a kid I sold insurance, but nobody laughed."
Today we lost a comedic genius jackass. An "are you pregnant or can't ya just lay off the triple cheeseburgers and milkshakes?" kinda guy. You gotta be smart to be funny and you've gotta be observant as hell to thrash the kindly. Insults work if they're done with the warmest of hearts.
To be able to truly disregard the conventional judgement that we all experience and adhere to by our environment and upbringing, one needs to break away from the hatred that stems from those judgements. To be able to get away with mocking, one can't actually believe in the mockery, whilst at the same time, one has to embrace the reality of it. There's a fine line between insultation (not a real word) and hurtfulness.

We can all, for the most part, agree that people are, DICKS, JERKS, CUNTS, FUCKS, NUMB-NUTS, BITCHES, ASSHOLES & MOTHER-FUCKERS! We're just awful! On occasion, we're spectacular and that's great. What we're talking about here is the other 99.999999% of the time, i.e. awful...truly awful. So how do we add brevity to that condition and encourage enlightenment? Through clever & thoughtful mockery ...naturally.
The following clip shows two moments of that genuine humanity that Rickles had. Hope ya find 'em and enjoy. Fare thee well Rickles... I'll miss ya loads
